and regarding the gathering of animals and retribution among them, there are many ḥadīths. I will mention what I have reviewed of them in the following ḥadīth.

"The creatures will settle scores with each other, even the hornless sheep with the horned one, and even the ant with another ant." It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/363): ʿAbd al-Ṣamad narrated to us, Ḥammād narrated from Wāṣil from Yaḥyá ibn ʿAqīl from Abū Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said it, and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād is authentic, and all its men are trustworthy, the men of Muslim. Wāṣil is the client of Abū ʿUyainah. Ḥammād is Ibn Salamah al-Baṣrī. ʿAbd al-Ṣamad is Ibn ʿAbd al-Wārith al-Baṣrī. And al-Haythamī said in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (10/352) following al-Mundhirī in "al-Targhīb" (4/201): "Aḥmad narrated it, and its men are the men of the authentic collections." I said: Its origin is in "al-Ṣaḥīḥ" through the route of al-ʿAlāʾ ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān from his father from Abū Hurayrah with the wording: "Rights will be restored to their owners on the Day of Resurrection, even the hornless sheep will be avenged against the horned sheep." It was recorded by Muslim (7/18-19), al-Tirmidhī (4/292 with the commentary of al-Tuḥfah), and Aḥmad (2/235, 301, and 411) through various routes from him with it. And al-Tirmidhī said: "A ḥadīth that is ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ."
