Abū al-Zubayr informed me that he heard Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh say: and he mentioned it. Ibn Lahīʿah corroborated him from Abū al-Zubayr with it. It was recorded by Aḥmad (3/345) and al-Bukhārī in "al-Tārīkh" (3/1/451).

"A group from my community will continue to be manifest over the people. Allāh will raise the hearts of people who will fight them, and Allāh will provide for them from them until the command of Allāh comes while they are upon that. Verily, the stronghold of the believers is al-Shām, and goodness is tied to the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection." It was recorded by Aḥmad (4/104) through the route of Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh from Ibrāhīm ibn Sulaymān from al-Walīd ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Jurashī from Jubayr ibn Nufayr that Salamah ibn Nufayl informed them that he came to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and said: "I have become weary of horses, and I have cast aside weapons and laid down the burdens of war. I said: there is no fighting." The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to him: "Now the fighting has come. A group will continue..." etc. This is a good Shāmī isnād, and all its men are trustworthy. It has also come through another route from al-Jurashī with the wording: "A group from my community will continue..." and it was previously mentioned under ḥadīth (1935).

"A group from my community will continue to uphold the command of Allāh, not harmed by those who oppose them." It was recorded by Ibn Mājah (1/7) through the route of Abū ʿAlqamah Naṣr ibn ʿAlqamah from ʿUmayr ibn al-Aswad and Kathīr ibn Murrah al-Ḥaḍramī from Abū Hurayrah in a marfūʿ form. This is a good isnād, if Allāh wills, and its men are those of the Ṣaḥīḥ except for Naṣr ibn ʿAlqamah, who has been deemed trustworthy, and in "al-Taqrīb" he is described as "acceptable." There is another route for the ḥadīth that was previously mentioned with the wording: "They will not cease to be upon this matter..."
