and know that I had previously sourced the ḥadīth from the narration of ʿImrān as mentioned earlier (270), and I stated there that the ḥadīth was narrated by another group of Companions, totaling eight, and I briefly presented their ḥadīths without detailing their texts and wording. The purpose there was to inform the readers of what the scholars of the ummah and the imams of ḥadīth said about the victorious group, that they are the people of ḥadīth. Now, the focus has shifted to sourcing their ḥadīths, and the ḥadīths of others among them who mentioned their wording, to reveal the benefits and additions that cannot be obtained except through this sourcing. Success is from Allāh.

"If you did not sin, Allāh would create a creation that would sin, and He would forgive them." It was recorded by Muslim (8/94), al-Tirmidhī (2/270), and Aḥmad (5/414) through the route of Muḥammad ibn Qays - the storyteller of ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz - from Abū Ṣirmah from Abū Ayyūb, who said when he was on his deathbed: I had concealed something from you that I heard from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: and he mentioned it. Al-Tirmidhī said: "A ḥasan gharīb ḥadīth." I said: And al-Tirmidhī did not authenticate it - and Allāh knows best - despite the reliability of its narrators because there is a break in the chain between Abū Ṣirmah, who is a Companion named Mālik ibn Qays, and Muḥammad ibn Qays, and he did not hear from him. Al-Ḥāfiẓ said in his biography in "al-Taqrīb": "Reliable from the sixth generation, and his ḥadīth from the Companions is mursal." However, Muḥammad ibn Kaʿb al-Quraẓī followed him in Muslim, and it has been narrated from a group of Companions and was previously mentioned with the wording: "If you did not have sins" (number 968). We mentioned some supporting evidence for it there (969-970), and I referred to this ḥadīth. Two supporting narrations were previously mentioned from the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah (1950). And the ḥadīth of Anas ibn Mālik (1951). And in each of them, there is an important addition with the wording:
