and al-Tirmidhī said: "A ḥadīth that is gharīb and ṣaḥīḥ." I said: and it is according to the conditions of al-Bukhārī. Aḥmad also narrated it (3/322 and 339) through the route of Abū al-Zubayr from Jābir in a similar, abbreviated form. and it is according to the conditions of Muslim.

- "By the One in whose hand is my soul, if you were to remain as you are with me and in remembrance, the angels would shake hands with you on your beds and in your paths. But, O Ḥanẓalah! An hour and an hour, three times." It was narrated by Muslim (8/94-95), al-Tirmidhī (2/83-84), Ibn Mājah (2/559), and Aḥmad (4/178 and 346) through the route of Abū ʿUthmān al-Nahdī from Ḥanẓalah al-Usaydī, who said - and he was among the scribes of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) - he said: Abū Bakr met me and said: How are you, O Ḥanẓalah? He said: I said: Has Ḥanẓalah become a hypocrite? He said: Glory be to Allāh, what are you saying?! He said: I said: We are with the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and he reminds us of the Fire and Paradise as if we see them with our own eyes. But when we leave the presence of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), we engage with our wives, children, and properties, and we forget much. Abū Bakr said: By Allāh, we experience the same. So I and Abū Bakr went until we entered upon the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). I said: Ḥanẓalah has become a hypocrite, O Messenger of Allāh! The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: And what is that? I said: We are with you, and you remind us of the Fire and Paradise as if we see them with our own eyes. But when we leave your presence, we engage with our wives, children, and properties, and we forget much. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. The context is from Muslim. and al-Tirmidhī said: "A ṣaḥīḥ ḥadīth."
