(yazīgh) meaning inclines, in "al-Nihāyah": "in the ḥadīth of supplication: 'do not let my heart deviate' meaning do not let it incline away from faith. It is said: he deviated from the path, yazīgh, when he turned away from it."

"Take care of the horses and keep them, for goodness is tied to their forelocks." It was recorded by al-Bukhārī in "al-Tārīkh" (2/2/184): Muʿallá narrated to us, Muḥammad ibn Ḥumrān informed us, Salm al-Jarmī informed us from Suwādah ibn al-Rabīʿ who said: "I came to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and he ordered for me a herd, and he said to me: Instruct your children to trim their nails for the sake of their camels' udders and livestock, and tell them to milk their young ones on them, so that the year does not catch them while they are lean. He said: Do you have wealth? I said: Yes, I have wealth, horses, and slaves. He said: and he mentioned it. I said: And this is a good isnād. Al-Bukhārī mentioned it in the biography of this Suwādah, and he said: "al-Jarmī, he has companionship, and he is counted among the Basrans." And this is how he was mentioned in "al-Iṣābah," and his condition was hidden from al-Manāwī who said: "I did not see that among the famous Companions!" Salm is Ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Jarmī, and he is trustworthy, as is Muḥammad ibn Ḥumrān, as mentioned in "al-Taqrīb." And Muʿallá is Ibn Asad al-ʿAmī, a reliable and firm narrator from the two Shaykhs [al-Bukhārī and Muslim]. The ḥadīth was mentioned by al-Haythamī in "al-Majmaʿ" (5/259) with the story in brief, and he said: "It was narrated by al-Bazzār, and its men are trustworthy." I said: Likewise, it was recorded by Aḥmad (3/484) through the route of al-Marjī ibn Rajāʾ al-Yashkurī who said: Salm ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated it without his saying "and tell them."
