he made between his narration from the people of Syria, which he strengthened, and his narration from the people of the Hijaz, and said: "When he narrates from the Syrians, there is no harm, but he narrated from Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd strange things." I said: And this is from his narration from the Syrians, for Luqmān ibn ʿĀmir is among them. And it has a corroborating narration from the ḥadīth of Abū al-ʿAjfāʾ, elevated with a similar meaning. Ibn Saʿd reported it with an isnād whose men are trustworthy. And another corroborating narration from Abū Maryam al-Ghassānī, elevated with it. Al-Haythamī said (8/224): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī, and its men were deemed trustworthy." And in the ḥadīth of al-ʿIrbāḍ ibn Sāriyah, elevated with the wording: "And the vision of my mother who saw in her dream that she gave birth to a light..."
