I said: He died in the year 18, and ʿAṭāʾ ibn Yasār was born a year after that, and for this reason, the ḥāfiẓ in "al-Fatḥ" (6/9) deemed it disconnected. Aḥmad also recorded it (5/232) through the route of Zuhayr ibn Muḥammad, narrated to us by Zayd ibn Aslam in a shortened form. There is another difference in the isnād of the ḥadīth that al-Tirmidhī did not mention. Al-Bukhārī recorded it (6/9-10 and 13/351) through the route of Hilāl ibn ʿAlī from ʿAṭāʾ ibn Yasār from Abū Hurayrah as a marfūʿ ḥadīth similar to that of ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz, except that it did not say: "Leave the people to act," and its meaning is in the well-known ḥadīth of Muʿādh, which includes: "He said: I said: O Messenger of Allāh! Should I not give the people glad tidings? He said: Do not give them glad tidings lest they rely [on it]." Al-Bukhārī recorded it in "al-ʿIlm" and Muslim in "al-Īmān" (1/43), and it is in "Mukhtaṣar Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī" under number (85).

"Pray as if you are bidding farewell, as if you see Him, for if you do not see Him, He sees you. Despair of what is in people's hands, and you will live rich, and beware of what you need to apologize for." It was recorded in "al-Tārīkh" (3/2/216), al-Mukhliṣ in "al-Fawāʾid al-Muntaqāh" (6/74/2), al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (4588), al-Qaḍāʿī in "Musnad al-Shihāb" (80/2), al-Bayhaqī in "al-Zuhd" (62/1-2), al-Qāḍī al-Sharīf Abū ʿAlī in "Mashyakhatuh" (1/173/2), Ibn al-Najjār in "Dhail Tārīkh Baghdād" (10/16/1), and al-Ḍiyāʾ al-Maqdisī in "al-Mukhtārah" from Abū ʿAlī al-Ḥasan ibn Rāshid ibn ʿAbd al-Rabb: Nāfiʿ informed us, saying: I heard Ibn ʿUmar say: "A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: O Messenger of Allāh!
