6 - As for the ḥadīth of Umm Salamah, it is narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ" (no. 6222): Muḥammad ibn Bakr ibn Karwān al-Ḥarīrī al-Baṣrī narrated to us, Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyá al-Ḥanīnī al-Kūfī narrated to us, Munḏir ibn Jaʿfar al-Faydī narrated to us from ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Walīd al-Waṣṣāfī from Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī from her, attributed [to the Prophet] with the wording: "Acts of kindness protect against evil fates, charity given secretly extinguishes the wrath of the Lord, maintaining family ties increases lifespan, every good deed is charity, the people of kindness in this world are the people of kindness in the Hereafter, and the people of evil in this world are the people of evil in the Hereafter, and the first to enter Paradise are the people of kindness." And he said: "It is not narrated from Umm Salamah except with this isnād, and al-Waṣṣāfī is unique in narrating it." I said: It is weak as al-Haythamī said (3/115), and those below them I do not know. 7 - As for the ḥadīth of Abū Umāmah, it is narrated by Ḥafṣ ibn Sulaymān from Yazīd ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān from his father from him, attributed [to the Prophet] similar to the ḥadīth of ʿUmar (4) mentioned earlier, without the phrase: "and it expands provision..." It was produced by Luʾluʾ in "al-Fawāʾid al-Muntaqāh" (2/215/1) and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr" (8014). I said: And this isnād is very weak, Ḥafṣ ibn Sulaymān is al-Asadī Abū ʿAmr al-Bazzār al-Qāriʾ, the companion of ʿĀṣim. Al-Ḥāfiẓ said: "He is abandoned in ḥadīth despite his leadership in recitation." Then I saw that al-Haythamī mentioned the ḥadīth in "al-Majmaʿ" (3/115) and said: "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Kabīr' and its isnād is good."
