"Black seed is a remedy for every disease except death." Qatādah said: "Take twenty-one seeds every day, place them in a cloth, wrap them, and use them as a nasal drop every day, two drops in the right nostril and one in the left, and on the second day, two drops in the left and one in the right, and on the third day, two drops in the right and one in the left." I said: Its isnād to Abū Hurayrah is clearly interrupted. And Qatādah's statement is considered disconnected. There is another supporting narration from ʿĀʾishah, raised to the level of marfūʿ, similar to the previous ḥadīth of Sufyān, except that it includes the explanation with the ḥadīth, saying: "It means death, and the black seed is the black cumin." Aḥmad recorded it (6/138) from the path of Abū ʿAqīl from Bahiyyah from her. And this isnād is weak. Al-Bukhārī also recorded it (4/52) from another path from her, raised to the level of marfūʿ, without the explanation except for the statement: "I said: What is death? He said: Death."

- "An old man grows older and his body weakens, but his heart remains young in love for two things: long life and love of wealth." Aḥmad recorded it (2/335, 338, 339) from the path of Fulaīḥ from Hilāl ibn ʿAlī from ʿAṭāʾ ibn Yasār from Abū Hurayrah, raised to the level of marfūʿ. I said: This isnād is good for follow-ups and supporting evidence, and its men are trustworthy, the men of the two Shaykhs, except that Fulaīḥ, who is Ibn Saʿīd, has been criticized for his memory, and therefore the ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Taqrīb":
