and he said about the son: "He is truthful but makes mistakes." I said: However, they have been corroborated as in the first isnād, and al-Ṭabarānī has also recorded it in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (no. 10392) from this perspective, and it is a good isnād, its men are trustworthy, the men of Muslim except for al-Faḍl ibn Sahl who is Ibn Ibrāhīm al-Aʿraj al-Baghdādī, and the ḥāfiẓ said: "Truthful." As for Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar al-Madāʾinī, there is some discussion about him, but his ḥadīth does not fall below the rank of ḥasan, if Allāh wills. He was also followed by Ayyūb ibn Jābir from al-Aʿmash with it. Al-Ṭabarānī recorded it (no. 10391): narrated to us by Muḥammad ibn ʿUthmān ibn Abī Shaybah, informed us by Sufyān ibn Bishr, informed us by Ayyūb ibn Jābir from al-Aʿmash with it. And this Ayyūb is weak. He was also followed by ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Saʿīd, the guide of al-Aʿmash, from al-Aʿmash with it. And this guide is also weak. The first part of it has another follower and a witness whose extraction has been previously mentioned (184).
