al-Jarawī said: Yaḥyá ibn Ḥassān narrated to us, saying: Wakīʿ narrated to us from Ibn Abī Dhiʾb from al-Zuhrī from ʿUrwah from ʿĀʾishah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād is authentic; all its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of the two Shaykhs, except for Ḥasan ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz al-Jarawī, who is one of al-Bukhārī's teachers. The ḥadīth was recorded by Ibn Mājah (1/313) and Aḥmad (6/89) through the route of Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh, who narrated to us from Hishām ibn ʿUrwah with it in a ḥadīth that appears under number (2532) and its wording is: "Indeed, Allāh and His angels send blessings upon those who complete the rows, and whoever fills a gap, Allāh raises him a degree." Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh is weak in his narration from the people of the Ḥijāz, and this is from them. It was also recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (1/32/2 Majmaʿ al-Baḥrayn) from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad al-Qawwās, who narrated to us from Muslim ibn Khālid al-Zanjī from Ibn Abī Dhiʾb from Saʿīd al-Maqburī from ʿUrwah with it similarly in its entirety. He said: "No one narrated it from al-Maqburī except Ibn Abī Dhiʾb, and no one from him except al-Zanjī, and al-Qawwās was unique in narrating it." I said: I do not know him now, and the rest of its narrators are trustworthy except for al-Zanjī, who has weakness due to his memory. Al-Haythamī said about the ḥadīth: "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ', and in it is Muslim ibn Khālid al-Zanjī, who is weak, although Ibn Ḥibbān considered him trustworthy." Then I found a supporting narration for the ḥadīth from Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Khālid ibn Saʿīd ibn Maryam from his father from his grandfather from Ghānim ibn al-Aḥwaṣ, who heard Abū Ṣāliḥ al-Sammān say, "I heard Abū Hurayrah say that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said:" and he mentioned it with the wording of Ibn ʿAyyāsh, except that he said: "No servant completes a row except that Allāh raises him a degree, and the angels spread blessings upon him from righteousness."
