I said: This isnād is weak; its narrators are reliable except for this ʿĪsá. Ibn Abī Ḥātim said (3/1/285): "My father was asked about him, and he said: Weak." As for Ibn Ḥibbān, he mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt." He is the basis for al-Haythamī's statement (10/231): "al-Ṭabarānī narrated it, and its isnād consists of the narrators of the authentic collections except for ʿĪsá ibn Mūsá ibn Iyas ibn al-Bukayr, and he is reliable"! Moreover, there is a disconnection in the ḥadīth between Ṣafwān and Anas. Abū Ḥātim said: "Ṣafwān did not see Anas, and his narration from him is not authentic." Abū Dāwūd said: "He did not see any of the Companions except Abū Umāmah and ʿAbdullāh ibn Busr." However, the ḥadīth is ḥasan in my view, as al-Haythamī mentioned a supporting narration for its first part from Muḥammad ibn Maslamah, attributed to the Prophet with the wording: "Indeed, your Lord has breezes of mercy in the days of your time, so expose yourselves to them, perhaps one of you will be touched by a breeze from them and will never be miserable thereafter." He said: "al-Ṭabarānī narrated it in 'al-Awsaṭ' and 'al-Kabīr' with similar wording, and among its narrators are those I do not know, and those I know are reliable." The rest of it, which is the section on concealment, has a supporting narration from Abū Hurayrah, attributed to the Prophet with it. al-Kharāʾiṭī narrated it in "Makārim al-Akhlāq" as in "al-Jāmiʿ al-Kabīr" (2/49/1).
