"a rare authentic report." I said: Its chain of transmission is good, all its narrators are trustworthy, narrators of Muslim, except for ʿAbd al-Jabbār ibn al-ʿAbbās, who is truthful but inclined towards Shīʿism as mentioned in "Taqrīb."

"there will be mines attended by the worst of people." It was recorded by Aḥmad (5/430) from a man of Banū Sulaym from his grandfather "that he brought silver to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and said: This is from a mine of ours, and the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said..." and he mentioned it. I said: Its narrators are trustworthy, narrators of the two Shaykhs, except for the man, as he was not named. The ḥadīth has a supporting narration recorded by Abū Yaʿlá in "his Musnad" (4/1520): ʿAmr ibn al-Ḍaḥḥāk narrated to us, my father informed us, ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd ibn Jaʿfar informed us, he said: I heard Abū al-Jahm al-Qawwās narrate to my father - he was a Persian man, said to be (thus, perhaps heavy) of tongue and was among the companions of Abū Hurayrah, he said: I heard Abū Hurayrah say: "A mine will appear in the land of Banū Sulaym called Pharaoh or Furʿān - and that is in the tongue of Abū al-Jahm - near the Sawā (!), to which the worst of people will go, or the worst of people will be gathered to it." I said: Its narrators are trustworthy and well-known, except for Abū al-Jahm al-Qawwās, thus the original with neglect, perhaps (al-Qawwās) relates to his work with bows or selling them, I did not recognize him, and in his class is Sulaymān ibn al-Jahm ibn Abī al-Jahm al-Anṣārī al-Ḥārithī Abū al-Jahm al-Jawzajānī, a client of al-Barāʾ ibn ʿĀzib, who narrated from him and from Abū Masʿūd al-Badrī and from Abū Zayd, the companion of Abū Hurayrah, and he is trustworthy, so perhaps it is him. It is problematic that they did not mention his narration from Abū Hurayrah, only from Abū Zayd, the companion of Abū Hurayrah, as I have seen, although in this chain it is stated that he himself was among the companions of Abū Hurayrah.
