they cut their hands. Indeed, my Lord is aware of their plot.) * And may Allāh's mercy be upon Lot, for he sought refuge in a strong support when he said to his people: * (If only I had strength against you or could take refuge in a strong support) *. And Allāh did not send a prophet after him except in a position of strength among his people. It was recorded by Imām Aḥmad (2/232): Muḥammad ibn Bishr narrated to us, Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr narrated to us, Abū Salamah narrated from Abū Hurayrah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. The second part of it was also recorded by Ibn Jarīr in "Tafsīr" (12/139), al-Ṭaḥāwī in "Mushkil al-Āthār" (1/136), and al-Ḥākim (2/561) who said: "Authentic according to the conditions of Muslim." Al-Dhahabī agreed, and Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr was only recorded by Muslim as a follow-up. It was also recorded by al-Tirmidhī (4/129) and Tamām (Q 86/1-2) through other authentic chains in its entirety, and al-Tirmidhī deemed it good. Khālid ibn ʿAbd Allāh differed with them in the wording of the ḥadīth, as he narrated it from Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr in its entirety except that he said: "May Allāh have mercy on Yūsuf, if it were not for the word he said: (Mention me to your lord), he would not have remained in prison as long as he did." It was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān (1747): al-Faḍl ibn al-Ḥabāb al-Jumaḥī informed us, Musaddad ibn Musarhad narrated to us, Khālid ibn ʿAbd Allāh narrated it. Al-Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Kathīr said in "Tārīkh" (1/208): "This is objectionable from this aspect, and Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr ibn ʿAlqamah has things he narrates uniquely, and they contain objectionable elements, and this phrase is among the most objectionable and severe. What is in the 'Ṣaḥīḥayn' bears witness to its wording," meaning its objectionability
قطعن أيديهن إن ربي بكيدهن عليم) * ورحمة الله على لوط إن كان ليأوي إلى ركن شديد، إذ قال لقومه: * (لو أن لي بكم قوة أو آوي إلى ركن شديد) *، وما بعث الله من بعده من نبي إلا في ثروة من قومه ". أخرجه الإمام أحمد (٢ / ٢٣٢) : حدثنا محمد بن بشر حدثنا محمد بن عمرو حدثنا أبو سلمة عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: فذكره. وأخرج الشطر الثاني منه ابن جرير في " تفسيره " (١٢ / ١٣٩) والطحاوي في " مشكل الآثار " (١ / ١٣٦) والحاكم (٢ / ٥٦١) وقال: " صحيح على شرط مسلم". وأقره الذهبي، ومحمد بن عمرو إنما أخرج له مسلم متابعة وأخرجه الترمذي (٤ / ١٢٩) وتمام (ق ٨٦ / ١ - ٢) من طرق أخرى صحيحة عنه بتمامه وحسنه الترمذي. وخالفهم خالد بن عبد الله في لفظ الحديث، فرواه عن محمد بن عمرو بتمامه إلا أنه قال: " رحم الله يوسف لولا الكلمة التي قالها: (اذكرني عند ربك) ما لبث في السجن ما لبث ". أخرجه ابن حبان (١٧٤٧) : أخبرنا الفضل ابن الحباب الجمحي حدثنا مسدد بن مسرهد حدثنا خالد بن عبد الله به. قال الحافظ ابن كثير في " تاريخه " (١ / ٢٠٨) : " هذا منكر من هذا الوجه، ومحمد بن عمرو بن علقمة له أشياء يتفرد بها، وفيها نكارة، وهذه اللفظة من أنكرها، وأشدها. والذي في " الصحيحين " يشهد بلفظها " أي بإنكارها.
