and this Ibn Qaṭan, his name is ʿAbd al-ʿUzzá as transmitted by the ḥāfiẓ from al-Dimyāṭī. He did not mention its chain of transmission in that narration. This mursal ḥadīth is a strong corroboration for that.

- "He was buried in the clay from which he was created." It was narrated by Abū Nuʿaym in "Akhbār Aṣbahān" (2/304) and al-Khaṭīb in "al-Mawḍiḥ" (2/104) from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿĪsá, who reported to us from Yaḥyá al-Bakkāʾ from Ibn ʿUmar that an Abyssinian was buried in Medina, and the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād is weak, as Yaḥyá al-Bakkāʾ, who is Ibn Muslim al-Baṣrī, is weak. Similarly, ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿĪsá, who is al-Kharrāz al-Baṣrī, is weak, and al-Haythamī criticized it (3/42) after attributing it to al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr." It has a corroborating narration from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Jaʿfar ibn Najīḥ, who reported to us from his father, who reported from Anīs ibn Abī Yaḥyá from his father from Abū Saʿīd: that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) passed by Medina and saw a group digging a grave, so he asked about it, and they said: an Abyssinian came and died, so the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "There is no deity but Allāh, he was brought from his land and sky to the soil from which he was created." It was produced by al-Bazzār (no. 842 - Kashf al-Astār) and (p. 91 - Zawāʾid Ibn Ḥajar) and he said: "We do not know it from Abū Saʿīd except through this isnād, and Anīs and his father are reliable." I said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Jaʿfar is weak, and I do not know his father. It has another corroborating narration from Abū al-Dardāʾ similar to it. Al-Haythamī said: "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ' and in it is al-Aḥwaṣ ibn Ḥakīm, who was deemed trustworthy by al-ʿAjlī but considered weak by the majority."
