"is abandoned." However, in this wording, it has come through other chains from a group of the Companions (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhum), so it is also preserved, and its extraction has been previously mentioned under number (285), so refer to it if you wish.

"The best of you in Islam are those with the best character when they gain understanding." It was recorded by al-Bukhārī in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (285) and Aḥmad (2/467, 469, and 481) through the chain of Ḥammād ibn Salamah from Muḥammad ibn Ziyād who said: I heard Abū Hurayrah say: I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is authentic, its men are the men of Muslim, and its origin is in "the two Ṣaḥīḥs."

"The best days for cupping are the seventeenth, nineteenth, and twenty-first, and I did not pass by any assembly of angels on the night I was taken on the Night Journey except that they said: 'Adhere to cupping, O Muḥammad!'" It was recorded by al-Tirmidhī (2/5, Būlāq edition), al-Ḥākim (4/209 and 210), and Aḥmad (1/354) with this wording through the chain of ʿAbbād ibn Manṣūr from ʿIkrimah from Ibn ʿAbbās as marfūʿ. Al-Ḥākim said: "The isnād is authentic." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him. However, it is not as they said, for ʿAbbād ibn Manṣūr is a mudallis. Al-Dhahabī himself said in "al-Mīzān": "Everything he narrated from ʿIkrimah he heard from Ibrāhīm ibn Abī Yaḥyá from Dāwūd from ʿIkrimah." He listed for him ḥadīths, including this second part of it. In "al-Taqrīb": "Truthful, accused of Qadar, he used to practice tadlīs and changed towards the end of his life."
