I said: Ibn Abī Ḥātim said (3/1/18): "He narrated from Anas, and he narrated from Ibn Masʿūd, mursal - and Abū Umayyah al-Ḥabṭī. ʿAbd al-Karīm al-Jazarī, Shuʿbah, Muḥammad ibn Salamah, and ʿAtāb ibn Bashīr narrated from him." Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt" (1/136), so he is considered reliable due to the narration of these trustworthy individuals from him. Then al-Ḍiyāʾ said: "Abū Yaʿlá al-Mawṣilī narrated it from Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Khālid al-Qurashī from ʿAbbād ibn Bashīr from ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd from Anas. And Abū ʿAbd Allāh Muḥammad ibn Muslim ibn Wārah narrated it from Yaḥyá ibn Ṣāliḥ from Sulaymān ibn ʿAṭāʾ from Abū al-Wāṣil from Anas." I said: And through the path of Yaḥyá ibn Ṣāliḥ, it was extracted by al-Salafī in "al-Fawāʾid al-Muntaqāh min Uṣūl Samāʿāt al-Raʾīs Abī ʿAbd Allāh al-Thaqafī" (2/165/1) with the wording: "... grant me residence in Islam until I meet You." And Sulaymān ibn ʿAṭāʾ, this is Abū ʿAmr al-Jazarī, is weak by consensus, but that does not undermine the authenticity of the ḥadīth after we have extracted it through the path of Muḥammad ibn Salamah al-Ḥarrānī and Khaṭṭāb ibn al-Qāsim, both of whom are trustworthy, so reliance is on their narration.
