and it has a corroborating narration from ʿAmr on the authority of al-Muṭṭalib, raised with the wording: "I have not left anything that Allāh commanded you with except that I have commanded you with it, and I have not left anything that He prohibited you from except that I have prohibited you from it." It was recorded by al-Shāfiʿī as in "Badāʾiʿ al-Minan" under number (7) and by Ibn Khuzaymah in "Ḥadīth ʿAlī ibn Ḥujr" (vol. 3, no. 100). This is a good mursal isnād; ʿAmr is Ibn Abī ʿUmar, and al-Muṭṭalib is Ibn ʿAbd Allāh.

"Three are not approached by the angels: the one in a state of major ritual impurity, the drunkard, and the one who is perfumed with saffron." It was recorded by al-Bazzār (p. 164 - Zawāʾid Ibn Ḥajar): ʿAbbās ibn Abī Ṭālib narrated to us, Abū Salamah narrated to us, Abān narrated from Qatādah from Ibn Buraydah from Yaḥyá ibn Yaʿmar from Ibn ʿAbbās from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) who said: and he mentioned it, and said: "It was narrated by others than ʿAbbās as mursal and it is not known to be narrated from Ibn ʿAbbās except through this route." I said: And this isnād is authentic as al-Mundhirī said in "al-Targhīb" (1/91) and its men are trustworthy, the men of the two Shaykhs, except for this ʿAbbās, who is Ibn Jaʿfar ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Zabraqān al-Baghdādī Abū Muḥammad ibn Abī Ṭālib, the brother of Yaḥyá, and he is truthful, died in the year (258). Al-Haythamī said in "al-Majmaʿ" (5/72): "It was narrated by al-Bazzār and its men are the men of the authentic collections except for ʿAbbās ibn Abī Ṭālib, and he is trustworthy." I said: And it was narrated by al-Bukhārī in "al-Tārīkh" (3/1/74) through the route of Abū ʿAwānah from Qatādah with it. So the statement of al-Bazzār: "It is not narrated from Ibn ʿAbbās except through this route" is based on what his knowledge encompassed, (and above every possessor of knowledge is one more knowing)
