4 - that the earths are seven like the heavens. There are many ḥadīths about this in the two Ṣaḥīḥs and other collections, and perhaps we will dedicate time to follow and authenticate them. This is supported by the saying of Allāh: "He created seven heavens and of the earth, the like of them" (in creation and number). So do not pay attention to those who interpret it in a way that negates the similarity in number, being deceived by the advancements of European science, claiming they do not know of seven earths! Even though they do not know of seven heavens either! Should we deny the words of Allāh and His Messenger due to the ignorance of Europeans and others, despite their admission that the more they learn about the universe, the more they realize their ignorance of it? Allāh the Almighty spoke the truth when He said: "And you have not been given of knowledge except a little" (Sūrah al-Isrāʾ, 85). 5 - that adorning oneself with fine clothing is not arrogance. Rather, it is a permissible act, because Allāh is beautiful and loves beauty, as He said on a similar occasion, as narrated by Muslim in his "Ṣaḥīḥ." 6 - that the arrogance which is associated with shirk and prevents one from entering Paradise if they have even a mustard seed's weight of it in their heart is the arrogance against the truth, rejecting it after it has been made clear, and unjustly criticizing innocent people. A Muslim should be cautious not to possess any of this kind of arrogance, just as they should be cautious not to possess any shirk, which condemns its possessor to eternal fire.
