It was recorded by al-Ḥākim (4/284) through the chain of Muḥammad ibn ʿAjlān from al-Qaʿqāʿ ibn Ḥakīm from Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. He said: "Authentic according to the criteria of Muslim." And al-Dhahabī agreed with him. And I say: It is only ḥasan because Ibn ʿAjlān has slight weakness, and Muslim only recorded it as a follow-up. (al-Hadaʾah): the calmness from movements. Meaning after people have settled from walking and moving about in the streets.

"Beware of narrating many ḥadīths from me. Whoever attributes something to me should only speak the truth or accuracy. Whoever attributes to me what I did not say, let him prepare his seat in the Fire." It was recorded by Imām Aḥmad (5/297): Muḥammad ibn ʿUbayd narrated to us, Muḥammad - meaning - Ibn Isḥāq narrated to us, Ibn Kaʿb ibn Mālik narrated to me from Abū Qatādah who said: I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is ḥasan, its men are trustworthy, for Ibn Kaʿb ibn Mālik's name is Maʿbad, as Ibn Isḥāq named him in the narration of a group from him. It was recorded by al-Dārimī (1/77), Ibn Mājah (35), and al-Ṭaḥāwī in "Mushkil al-Āthār" (1/172), and al-Ḥākim (1/111). ʿUqayl ibn Khālid followed him from Maʿbad ibn Kaʿb with it. Al-Ṭaḥāwī recorded it with a weak chain from him. Kaʿb ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Kaʿb ibn Mālik followed him from his father with it
