As for the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah, it is narrated by ʿIkrimah ibn Ibrāhīm al-Azdī, who said, "Idrīs ibn Yazīd al-Awdī narrated to me from his father from him." It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (1105) and he said, "No one narrated it from Idrīs except ʿIkrimah." I say: He is weak. As for the ḥadīth of Abū Saʿīd, it is narrated by Ḥafṣ ibn Rāshid, who informed us, "Faḍl ibn Marzūq narrated from ʿAṭiyyah from him." It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (8599) and he said, "No one narrated it from Faḍl except Ḥafṣ ibn Rāshid." I say: Ibn Abī Ḥātim mentioned him (1/2/172-173) without mentioning any criticism or endorsement. As for others among the Companions, al-Ṭabarānī narrated in "al-Awsaṭ" (2302 and 7025) through two routes from ʿUmayrah ibn Saʿd who said, "I heard ʿAlī urging the people: 'Whoever heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: (he mentioned it), then thirteen stood up and testified that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: he mentioned it.' And ʿUmayrah is reliable." Then al-Ṭabarānī narrated in it (5301) from ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Ajlah from his father from Abū Isḥāq from ʿAmr ibn Dhī Mar who said, "I heard ʿAlī..." the ḥadīth except that he said, "... twelve." And he said, "No one narrated it from al-Ajlah except his son ʿAbd Allāh."
