(the scattering of the cattle) refers to when they disperse and gather in one place rather than another at sunset. It is likened to (the thin fat) which is the singular of (thin fats), the thin fat that covers the stomach and intestines. This is a plural of paucity, and the plural of the plural is (thick fats) as mentioned in "al-Nihāyah".

- "Shall I not guide you to a gate from the gates of Paradise? There is no power nor might except with Allāh." It was narrated by al-Tirmidhī (4/284), al-Ḥākim (4/290), Aḥmad (3/422), and al-Khaṭīb in "al-Tārīkh" (6/78, 12/428) through the route of Maymūn ibn Abī Shaybīb from Qays ibn Saʿd ibn ʿUbādah. "that his father sent him to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) to serve him. He said: The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) passed by me while I was praying, so he tapped me with his foot and said..." He mentioned it and al-Tirmidhī said: "A ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ gharīb ḥadīth from this perspective." Al-Ḥākim said: "Ṣaḥīḥ according to the conditions of al-Shaykhayn." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him! Thus they said, and this Maymūn was not relied upon by al-Shaykhayn, but al-Bukhārī narrated from him in a suspended form and Muslim in the introduction, so it is only ṣaḥīḥ.

- "Shall I not guide you to the master supplication for seeking forgiveness? O Allāh, You are my Lord, there is no deity but You. You created me and I am Your servant and the son of Your servant. I am upon Your covenant and promise as much as I am able. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favor upon me, and I confess my sins. So forgive me my sins, for none forgives sins except You. Whoever says it in the evening will have Paradise guaranteed for him." It was narrated by al-Tirmidhī (4/229) from Kathīr ibn Zayd from ʿUthmān ibn Rabīʿah from Shaddād ibn Aws that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: He mentioned it, and he said:
