"authentic according to the criteria of Muslim." al-Dhahabī agreed with him. This is a gross error on their part, for Muḥammad ibn Khaytham and Yazīd ibn Muḥammad ibn Khaytham were not included by Muslim in anything, nor by any of the remaining six except al-Nasāʾī in the previous book "al-Khaṣāʾiṣ," and both are unknown. The first of them was narrated only by al-Qurāẓī, and the other by none other than Ibn Isḥāq. al-Haythamī said about the ḥadīth (9/136): "It was narrated by Aḥmad, al-Ṭabarānī, and al-Bazzār in a shortened form, and all the men are reliable except that the Successor did not hear from ʿAmmār." However, the ḥadīth has corroborating reports from the ḥadīth of Ṣuhayb, Jābir ibn Samurah, and ʿAlī with isnāds that are weak except for the ḥadīth of ʿAlī, for its isnād is good as al-Haythamī said, and he has compiled all of them, so refer to it if you wish (9/136-137). (ṣuwar min al-nakhl) means a group of palm trees, and it has no singular form from its word, and it is pluralized as (ṣiyārān). (daqʿāʾ) here refers to the fine dust on the surface of the ground.

(دقعاء) هو هنا التراب الدقيق على وجه الأرض.
