It was also recorded by al-Ṭabarānī (6160) from the route of Ḥammād ibn Salamah from ʿAlī ibn Zayd from Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib and Ḥumayd from Muwarraq al-ʿAjlī similarly. I said: al-Ḥasan corroborated Muwarraq al-ʿAjlī, who is a trustworthy follower, and there is no issue in it as there is in the narration of Manṣūr from al-Ḥasan. Then it occurred to me that perhaps his statement: "we looked" is a scribal error, and the correct version is: "they looked" as in this narration, and Allāh knows best. Then I saw it in "al-Zuhd" by Ibn al-Mubārak (966) from the narration of Yūnus from al-Ḥasan, and he mentioned it without the addition. Then it was narrated (967) from the route of Muḥammad ibn Abī ʿAdī who said: Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl narrated to us from Muwarraq al-ʿAjlī from some of their companions who met Salmān, saying: We entered upon Salmān during his illness in which he died, and he wept... etc. without the addition found in the other version, and these two narrations are from the additions of al-Ḥusayn al-Marwazī to Ibn al-Mubārak. Then it was recorded by Abū Nuʿaym and likewise by Ibn Saʿd (4/91) from the route of ʿAlī ibn Zayd from Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib in a mursal form similarly.
