"whoever wishes to look at a man who has fulfilled his vow, let him look at Ṭalḥah ibn ʿUbayd Allāh." It was recorded by Ibn Saʿd (3/1/156): Hishām Abū al-Walīd al-Ṭayālisī informed us, saying: Abū ʿAwānah narrated to us from Ḥuṣayn from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUtbah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said it, and he mentioned it. I said: This is a mursal with a sound isnād, all its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of the two Shaykhs [al-Bukhārī and Muslim]. Then Ṣāliḥ ibn Mūsá, who is in the first chain, narrated it with another isnād and wording: "whoever is pleased to look at a martyr walking on the face of the earth, let him look at Ṭalḥah ibn ʿUbayd Allāh."

"whoever is pleased to look at a martyr walking on the face of the earth, let him look at Ṭalḥah ibn ʿUbayd Allāh." It was recorded by al-Tirmidhī (2/302 - Būlāq) from Ṣāliḥ ibn Mūsá al-Ṭalḥī - a descendant of Ṭalḥah ibn ʿUbayd Allāh - from al-Ṣalt ibn Dīnār from Abū Naḍrah who said: Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh said: I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say it, and he mentioned it, and said: "A strange ḥadīth, we do not know it except from the narration of al-Ṣalt, and some scholars have criticized al-Ṣalt ibn Dīnār and Ṣāliḥ ibn Mūsá regarding their memory." I said: Upon investigation, they are very weak, but Ṣāliḥ ibn Mūsá was not alone in narrating it, as indicated by al-Tirmidhī's own words. Al-Ṭayālisī said in his "Musnad" (1793): al-Ṣalt ibn Dīnār narrated to us (he narrated to us) from Abū Naḍrah with the wording: "Ṭalḥah passed by the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and he said: A martyr walking on the face of the earth."
