from Sharḥabīl ibn Saʿd, from Jabbār ibn Ṣakhr, who said: I heard the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: and he mentioned it. I said: al-Ḥākim remained silent about it, then al-Dhahabī, and its chain is weak, with two defects: the first is Sharḥabīl ibn Saʿd, about whom the ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Taqrīb": "truthful but became confused at the end of his life." I said: It is not known whether he narrated this ḥadīth before or after his confusion. The other is Zuhair ibn Muḥammad, who is al-Khurāsānī al-Shāmī, and he is weak. But he was followed by Ibrāhīm ibn Muḥammad ibn Abī Yaḥyá from Sharḥabīl with it. It was extracted by Ibn Abī Ḥātim and Ibn Mandah. But this Ibrāhīm is abandoned. However, the ḥadīth has many supporting narrations, including the ḥadīth: "Protect your private parts except from your wife and what your right hand possesses." It is included in "Ādāb al-Zafāf." And among them is his saying (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam): "Return to your garment and take it, and do not walk naked." Extracted by Muslim (1/184), al-Bayhaqī, and others.
"We do not accept anything from the polytheists." Extracted by al-Ḥākim (3/484-485) and Aḥmad (3/401) from Layth ibn Saʿd, who said: ʿUbayd Allāh ibn al-Mughīrah narrated to me from ʿArāk ibn Mālik that Ḥakīm ibn Ḥizām said:
