I said: and this is a sound isnād, all its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of the two Shaykhs except for Junādah ibn Abī Umayyah al-Azdī, but he is a Companion as clarified by al-Ḥāfiẓ in "al-Iṣābah," and he authenticated this ḥadīth. The ḥadīth has two supporting narrations with the wording: "Migration does not cease as long as the enemy is fought." The first: it was recorded by al-Ṭaḥāwī (3/258), Aḥmad (5/270), and al-Khaṭīb in "al-Mūḍiḥ" (2/33) through the route of ʿAṭāʾ al-Khurasānī who narrated to me from Ibn Muḥayriz from ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Saʿdī, a man from Banī Mālik ibn Ḥanbal, as a marfūʿ report. Its isnād is acceptable for supporting evidence, its narrators are trustworthy except that al-Khurasānī is truthful but errs often, but he was followed by Basr ibn ʿUbayd Allāh from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥayriz with it. It was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān (1579) and al-Bazzār (1748) except that he said: from Ibn al-Saʿdī from Muḥammad ibn Ḥabīb al-Miṣrī as a marfūʿ report and said: "We do not know Muḥammad narrated except this." I said: mentioning him in this isnād is anomalous as indicated by the previous narrations of Ibn Ḥibbān and Aḥmad and others that follow, and al-Baghawī pointed to this as transmitted by al-ʿAsqalānī in the biography of this Muḥammad in "al-Iṣābah," so refer to it if you wish. The other: it was also recorded by Aḥmad (5/363) through the route of Rajāʾ ibn Ḥaywah from his father from the messenger who asked the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) about migration, and he mentioned it. Its narrators are trustworthy except for Ḥaywah, the father of Rajāʾ, whom I did not recognize. Then I found another route for the first supporting narration also with Aḥmad (1/192) through the route of Shurayḥ ibn ʿUbayd returning to Mālik ibn Yukhāmir from Ibn al-Saʿdī with it. I said: and this is a sound isnād, all its narrators are trustworthy
