It was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān (1606), al-Nasāʾī in "al-Siyar" (1/38/1), and also by al-Ḍiyāʾ. Ḥumayd followed him from Anas in his narration. It was narrated in the wording: "... with men who are not from his people." It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī, and in it is ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ziyād ibn Anʿam who is weak, as al-Haythamī said: and with this wording, it is objectionable to me due to its contradiction with the wording of the trustworthy narrators, and Allāh knows best.

- "Indeed, Allāh did not send down a disease or did not create a disease except that He sent down or created for it a cure, known by whoever knows it and unknown by whoever is ignorant of it, except for death." They said: "O Messenger of Allāh, what is death?" He said: "Death." It was recorded by al-Ḥākim (4/401) through the route of Shabīb ibn Shaybah who reported from ʿAṭāʾ ibn Abī Rabāḥ who reported from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī in a marfūʿ manner. Al-Ḥākim and al-Dhahabī remained silent about it, and its chain is weak due to Shabīb, for in "al-Taqrīb": "He is truthful but errs in ḥadīth." However, it has supporting narrations from the ḥadīth of Usāmah ibn Sharīk with the wording: "Seek treatment, for Allāh..." And from the ḥadīth of Ibn Masʿūd with the wording: "Allāh did not send down a disease..." I have recorded both in "Ghayat al-Maram" (292), so the ḥadīth with its supporting narrations is authentic. And the ḥadīth of Ibn Masʿūd has also been narrated in a similar manner with the wording: "Indeed, Allāh did not send down a disease except that He sent down with it a cure, unknown by whoever is ignorant of it among you or known by whoever knows it among you." It was recorded by Aḥmad (1/446) who reported from ʿAlī ibn ʿĀṣim who informed me that ʿAṭāʾ ibn al-Sāʾib said:
