the route of Muṣʿab ibn Abī Ayyūb, who said: I heard ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz on the pulpit saying: and he mentioned it. In this, it is indicated that he announced it on the pulpit. But I do not know this Muṣʿab. The ḥadīth has a corroborating elevated chain, narrated by Baqiyyah from ʿAlī ibn Abī Jumlah from Nāfiʿ from Ibn ʿUmar that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) struck the shoulder of Abū Bakr and said: "If Allāh had willed that He not be disobeyed, He would not have created Iblīs." It was narrated by Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (6/92). Baqiyyah is known for tadlīs and has narrated it with an ambiguous chain. As for ʿAlī ibn Abī Jumlah, I did not find a biography for him except that Abū Nuʿaym mentioned him in his book alongside Rajāʾ ibn Abī Salamah, describing them as the devout narrators. Thus, he is among the unknown teachers of Baqiyyah. In summary, the ḥadīth, with all its chains, is authentic due to external evidence. And Allāh knows best.

- "Allāh will not fail this nation for half a day." It was narrated by Abū Dāwūd (4349) and al-Ḥākim (4/424) from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Wahb, who said: Muʿāwiyah ibn Ṣāliḥ narrated to me from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Jubayr from his father from Abū Thaʿlabah al-Khushanī, who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. Al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the criteria of al-Bukhārī and Muslim." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I say: Al-Bukhārī did not rely on Muʿāwiyah ibn Ṣāliḥ, but he did narrate from him in "Juzʾ al-Qirāʾah," and he is trustworthy but has errors, so he is only according to the criteria of Muslim. It was also narrated by Aḥmad (4/193) through the route of Layth from him with the same content, except that it is not explicitly elevated. It has a corroborating narration from Saʿd ibn Abī Waqqāṣ, elevated, and it has two routes from him: the first is from Sharḥ ibn ʿUbayd from him with the wording:
