"I hope that my community will not be unable before their Lord to delay them half a day." It was said to Saʿd: And how long is half of that day? He said: Five hundred years. It was recorded by Abū Dāwūd (4350). Its narrators are trustworthy, but Sharīḥ ibn ʿUbayd did not meet Saʿīd. The second [route]: from Abū Bakr ibn Abī Maryam from Rāshid ibn Saʿd from him. It was recorded by Aḥmad (1/170), Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (6/117), and al-Ḥākim, who said: "Authentic according to the criteria of the two shaykhs." Al-Dhahabī refuted it, saying: "I say: No, by Allāh! Ibn Abī Maryam is weak, and they did not narrate anything from him." I say: In the narration of Abū Nuʿaym and al-Ḥākim, there is an addition: "It was said: And what is half a day? He said: Five hundred years." And it is from the words of Saʿd in Aḥmad's version as in the first route. And in a narration by Abū Nuʿaym, it is from the words of Rāshid. And Allāh knows best.
- "Put your nose to prostrate with you." It was recorded by Abū Nuʿaym in "Akhbār Aṣbahān" (1/192-193) from Ḥumayd ibn Masʿadah, who reported from Ḥarb ibn Maymūn, from Khālid, from ʿIkrimah, from Ibn ʿAbbās. That the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) came to a man prostrating on his face, not placing his nose, and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is very weak, Ḥarb ibn Maymūn, who is the younger, is abandoned as al-Ḥāfiẓ said. And it was narrated by al-Bayhaqī (2/104) from his route in a suspended form and he said:
