ʿAbd Allāh ibn Shaqīq said, Miḥjan ibn al-Adraʿ ... and he mentioned it similarly with the wording: "You are a nation for whom ease was intended." And this isnād is authentic. Abū Bishr disagreed with them and said: from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Shaqīq from Rajāʾ ibn Abī Rajāʾ al-Bāhilī from Miḥjan with it similarly with the wording: "The best of your religion is its ease." He said it three times. It was recorded by al-Ṭayālisī (1296) and al-Bukhārī in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (341) and Aḥmad (4/338 and 5/32). I said: And this Rajāʾ is not known except in this isnād, and only al-ʿAjlī and Ibn Ḥibbān have deemed him reliable. And it seems it is not preserved. For it was not mentioned in the narration of Ḥammād and Kahmas as previously mentioned. And Allāh knows best. And it has a corroborating narration from Anas, raised with it, and added: "And the best worship is fiqh." It was recorded by Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr in "al-Jāmiʿ" (1/21) from the route of Abū Sufyān al-Sarūjī ʿAbd al-Raḥīm ibn Muṭarraf, the cousin of Wakīʿ, who said: Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-ʿAdhrī narrated to us from Yūnus ibn Yazīd from al-Zuhrī from him. Abū Sufyān said: And he disliked narrating from al-ʿAdhrī. I said: He is indicating his weakness. And he mentioned it in "al-Mīzān" for this report, and said: It is objectionable. And from his route, it was recorded by al-Daylamī (2/115) without the first part.
عبد الله بن شقيق قال محجن بن الأدرع ... فذكره نحوه بلفظ: " إنكم أمة أريد بكم اليسر ". وهذا إسناد صحيح. وخالفهما أبو بشر فقال: عن عبد الله بن شقيق عن رجاء بن أبي رجاء الباهلي عن محجن به نحوه بلفظ: " إن خير دينكم أيسره ". قاله ثلاثا. أخرجه الطيالسي (١٢٩٦) والبخاري في " الأدب المفرد " (٣٤١) وأحمد (٤ / ٣٣٨ و ٥ / ٣٢) . قلت: ورجاء هذا لا يعرف إلا في هذا الإسناد، ولم يوثقه غير العجلي وابن حبان. وكأنه غير محفوظ. فإنه لم يذكر في رواية حماد وكهمس كما تقدم. والله أعلم. وله شاهد من حديث أنس مرفوعا به وزاد: " وخير العبادة الفقه". أخرجه ابن عبد البر في " الجامع " (١ / ٢١) من طريق أبي سفيان السروجي عبد الرحيم بن مطرف ابن عم وكيع قال: حدثنا أبو عبد الله العذري عن يونس بن يزيد عن الزهري عنه. قال أبو سفيان: ويكره الحديث عن العذري. قلت: يشير إلى ضعفه. وقد أورده في " الميزان " لهذا الخبر، وقال: إنه منكر. ومن طريقه أخرجه الديلمي (٢ / ١١٥) دون الشطر الأول.

- "Indeed, Allāh will ask every shepherd about what he was entrusted with, whether he preserved it or neglected it, until He asks a man about his household."
- " إن الله سائل كل راع عما استرعاه، أحفظ ذلك أم ضيع؟ حتى يسأل الرجل عنأهل بيته ".
