al-Bukhārī mentioned it in the biography of this ʿAṭiyyah. He did not mention any criticism or endorsement of him. Ibn Abī Ḥātim did the same (3/1/382) and mentioned that three trustworthy narrators reported from him. He is also mentioned in "Thiqāt Ibn Ḥibbān" (3/204). The second part of it is in "the two Ṣaḥīḥs" and others from the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah. al-Ḥākim narrated it (2/604) through the route of Ibn ʿAjlān from his father from him, raised with the wording: "I am Abū al-Qāsim, Allāh gives, and I distribute." He said: "Authentic according to the conditions of Muslim." al-Dhahabī agreed with him. However, it is only ḥasan because Muḥammad ibn ʿAjlān was not relied upon by Muslim, but was only narrated as corroboration or in conjunction. Yes, it is authentic considering the previous routes.

- "When Allāh created the creation, He wrote with His hand upon Himself: Indeed, My mercy prevails over My wrath." It was narrated by al-Tirmidhī (2/271) with this wording, and by Aḥmad (2/433) and Ibn Mājah (4295) through the route of Ibn ʿAjlān from his father from Abū Hurayrah from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) who said: and he mentioned it and said: "This is a ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ gharīb ḥadīth." He said: Its chain is ḥasan, and the ḥadīth is authentic, for it has many other routes in "the two Ṣaḥīḥs" and "the Musnad" (2/242, 257, 259, 313, 358, 381, 397, 466) from Abū Hurayrah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) with similar wording, and refer to some of them in "Ẓilāl al-Jannah fī Takhrīj al-Sunnah" (808-809).
