"our freedmen are from us." In its chain of narration, there is weakness, as reported by al-Munāwī from al-Haythamī. Then it was claimed that the ḥadīth with this wording is not about the prohibition of zakāh on the freedmen, but rather about following the sunnah, respect, and honor. What the ḥadīth indicates regarding the prohibition of charity on the freedmen of the Prophet's family (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) is well-known in the Ḥanafī school, contrary to the statement of Ibn al-Malik among them. This was refuted by the scholar Shaykh ʿAlī al-Qārī in "Mirqāt al-Mafātīḥ" (2/448-449), so whoever wishes may refer to it.

"Consider if one of you had a river at his doorstep in which he bathed five times a day, would any dirt remain on him?" They said, "Nothing would remain." He said, "Indeed, the prayers remove sins just as water removes dirt." It was recorded by Aḥmad (1/71-72), Ibn Naṣr in "al-Ṣalāh" (17/1), and al-Ḍiyāʾ in "al-Mukhtārah" number (298-299, as verified by me) from al-Zuhrī, who said: Ṣāliḥ ibn ʿAbdullāh ibn Abī Furwah informed me that ʿĀmir ibn Saʿd ibn Abī Waqqāṣ informed him that he heard Abān ibn ʿUthmān say: ʿUthmān said: I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say it, and he mentioned it. I say: Its narrators are trustworthy, except for this Ṣāliḥ, who was deemed reliable by Ibn Maʿīn and Ibn Ḥibbān, but they did not mention any narrator for him other than al-Zuhrī. It is as if for this reason Abū Jaʿfar al-Ṭabarī said in "al-Tahdhīb": "He is not well-known among the people of transmission." However, the ḥadīth is authentic in any case, as it has a corroborating narration from Abū Hurayrah with a similar wording
