"and Farqad is weak." al-Ḥāfiẓ said: "He is truthful and devout but his ḥadīth is soft and he makes many mistakes." I said: Therefore, his solitary reports through these several paths are not acceptable, unlike those of all the reliable and trustworthy narrators. However, the ḥadīth has supporting evidence that strengthens it, if Allāh wills, and some of it has been mentioned under numbers (90 and 91), making it ḥasan with them.

"When he bid farewell to the army, he would say: I entrust Allāh with your religion, your trustworthiness, and the outcomes of your deeds." It was recorded by al-Muḥāmilī in "al-Duʿāʾ" (folio 30/2): ʿAbbās ibn Muḥammad narrated to us, Yaḥyá ibn Isḥāq narrated to us, Ḥammād ibn Salamah informed us from Abū Jaʿfar al-Khaṭmī from Muḥammad ibn Kaʿb from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yazīd al-Khaṭmī, as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. I said: This isnād is authentic; all its men are trustworthy narrators from the narrators of Muslim except for ʿAbbās ibn Muḥammad and Abū Jaʿfar al-Khaṭmī - whose name is ʿUmayr ibn Yazīd - and both are trustworthy and mentioned in "al-Tahdhīb." ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yazīd al-Khaṭmī is a young Companion, and he has two ḥadīths in "Musnad Aḥmad" (4/307). This ḥadīth has been previously mentioned under number (15) from two other sources, Abū Dāwūd and Ibn al-Sunnī, so I deemed it appropriate to repeat it here from this rare and scarce source, as it was previously supported by some evidence (14 and 16).
