in "Musnad al-Ṭayālisī" (1137) and by al-Bayhaqī in "Shuʿab al-Īmān" (2/153/1-2) with similar wording. And all the men are trustworthy except for Faraqad al-Sabkhī, for he is weak. It has also been narrated from him in other ways. Aḥmad said (5/259): Siyyār ibn Ḥātim narrated to us, saying: I came to Faraqad one day and found him alone, so I said: O son of Umm Faraqad, today I will ask you about this ḥadīth. I said: Tell me about your statement regarding the sinking and pelting, is it something you say yourself, or do you report it from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)? He said: No, rather I report it from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). I said: And who narrated it to you? He said: ʿĀṣim ibn ʿUmar al-Bajalī narrated to me from Abū Umāmah from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and Qatādah narrated to me from Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib, and Ibrāhīm al-Nakhaʿī narrated to me that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "A group from my nation will spend the night eating, drinking, and engaging in frivolity and play, then they will wake up as apes and swine. A wind will be sent upon some of their neighborhoods, annihilating them as it annihilated those before them due to their indulgence in intoxicants, their beating of drums, and their taking of singing girls." Ṣadaqah ibn Mūsá followed him in narrating from Faraqad al-Sabkhī, saying: Abū Munīb al-Shāmī narrated to us from Abū ʿAṭāʾ from ʿUbādah ibn al-Ṣāmit from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and Shahār ibn Ḥawshab narrated to me from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ghanm from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and ʿĀṣim ibn ʿAmr al-Bajalī narrated to me from Abū Umāmah from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib narrated to me or it was narrated from him from Ibn ʿAbbās from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) who said: "By the One in whose hand is my soul, some people from my nation will spend the night in arrogance and extravagance, play and frivolity, and they will wake up as apes and swine due to their indulgence in forbidden things, singing girls, drinking wine, consuming usury, and wearing silk." ʿAbd Allāh ibn Aḥmad included it in "Zawāʾid al-Musnad" (5/329).
