finally, while it was being printed, he recorded it (1/235-236) through the route of Muḥammad ibn Isḥāq who informed me, Saʿīd ibn Abī Saʿīd from his father from Abū Hurayrah who said: the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) led us in the ẓuhr prayer, and when he finished, he called a man who was at the end of the rows and said: "O so-and-so! Will you not fear Allāh? Will you not see how you pray? When one of you stands to pray, he is only standing to converse with his Lord, so let him see how he converses with Him. You think that I do not see you, but by Allāh, I see you from behind my back as I see you from in front of me." It is also in "Musnad Aḥmad" (2/449) from this route without the section on conversing, and al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the conditions of Muslim." al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I say: it is only ḥasan as we have pointed out repeatedly in the ḥadīths of Ibn Isḥāq. In any case, his narration of the ḥadīth with its authentic isnād from Abū Hurayrah indicates that the ḥadīth of the chapter has a strong basis from him, thus it is a strong witness for it. - "Some people from this nation will spend the night with food, drink, and entertainment, and by morning they will have been transformed into apes and pigs." It was recorded by Abū Nuʿaym in "Akhbār Aṣbahān" (2/126) through the route of ʿAlī ibn Yūnus al-Aṣbahānī who narrated to us from Abū Dāwūd al-Ṭayālisī who narrated from Jaʿfar ibn Sulaymān al-Ḍubʿī who narrated from Faraqad al-Sabkhī from Qatādah from Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib from Ibn ʿAbbās who said: the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. And he said: "It is strange from the ḥadīth of Qatādah from Saʿīd, uniquely narrated by ʿAlī ibn Yūnus from Abū Dāwūd." I said: and he is trustworthy as Abū al-Shaykh said in "Ṭabaqāt al-Muḥaddithīn" (2/74/2)
