"Indeed, a man may have a certain rank with Allāh, which he does not reach through his deeds. So Allāh continues to test him with what he dislikes until He brings him to it." It was recorded by Abū Yaʿlá in "his Musnad" (4/1447) and from him, it was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān (693) and al-Ḥākim (1/344) through the route of Yūnus ibn Bukayr, who narrated from Yaḥyá ibn Ayyūb - who is al-Bajali -: narrated from Abū Zurʿah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is ḥasan, and all its men are trustworthy, the men of Muslim except for this al-Bajali, and as the ḥāfiẓ said: "There is no harm in him."

"Never did a morning come upon me except that I sought forgiveness from Allāh in it one hundred times." It was narrated by al-ʿUqaylī in "al-Ḍuʿafāʾ" p. (411) and Abū Nuʿaym in "Akhbār Aṣbahān" (1/60) through the route of al-Ṭabarānī with a ṣaḥīḥ isnād from al-Mughīrah ibn Abī al-Ḥurr al-Kindī from Saʿīd ibn Abī Burdah from his father from his grandfather who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) came to us while we were sitting and said: and he mentioned it. Al-ʿUqaylī said: "Thābit and ʿAmr ibn Murrah said: from Abū Burdah from al-Agharr al-Muzanī from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) similarly, and this is more appropriate." Then he narrated from al-Bukhārī that he said about this al-Mughīrah: "A Kufan who differs in his ḥadīth from the Kufans." Al-ʿUqaylī said: "And this ḥadīth was narrated to us..." Then he presented this. I say: And in criticizing the ḥadīth due to the mentioned contradiction, there is a consideration from my perspective for several reasons: the first is that this al-Mughīrah is trustworthy, and no one weakened him except al-Bukhārī, while Ibn Maʿīn declared him trustworthy, and Abū Ḥātim said: there is no harm in him, and Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt"
