"When one of you is in prayer, he is conversing with his Lord, so do not raise your voices with the Quran and disturb the believers." This was narrated by al-Baghawī in "Ḥadīth ʿAlī ibn al-Jaʿd" (8/75/1) from Shuʿbah, who said: ʿAbd Rabbih narrated to us from Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm from a man from Banū Bayāḍah, and from him, he said: ʿAbd Rabbih ibn Saʿīd informed me, saying: I heard Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm from Abū Salamah from a man from Banū Bayāḍah, and from him, he said: I heard ʿAbd Rabbih narrating from Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm from Abū Ḥāzim. Shuʿbah said: Then ʿAbd Rabbih said from Salamah ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān from a man from Banū Bayāḍah: that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) performed iʿtikāf during the last ten days of Ramaḍān and said: and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād is weak for two reasons: first, the man from Banū Bayāḍah is not named, so he is unknown, and there is nothing in any of these chains to indicate that he is one of the Companions. The second reason is the inconsistency of ʿAbd Rabbih ibn Saʿīd in his isnād across these four versions: first, from Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm from a man from Banū Bayāḍah. Second, from Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm from Abū Salamah from a man from Banū Bayāḍah, adding Abū Salamah between him and the man. Third, from him from Abū Ḥāzim, not mentioning the man, and mentioning Abū Ḥāzim instead of Abū Salamah. Fourth, from him from Salamah ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān from a man from Banū Bayāḍah. This is like the second version except he said: Salamah ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān instead of Abū Salamah, who is the son of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān. This severe inconsistency indicates that the narrator did not accurately preserve the ḥadīth
