I said: someone like him can be cited as evidence, and his ḥadīth is strengthened by others. This ḥadīth of his has been transmitted in parts. The first part of it was recorded by Aḥmad (5/353) and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (7601) and others from the ḥadīth of Buraydah, similar to it, and its isnād is authentic. It is included in "al-Mishkāt" (3918). Aḥmad also recorded it (3/32) from the ḥadīth of Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī as a marfūʿ report, and he added: "and he has the right to his seat when he returns." In it is Ismāʿīl ibn Rāfiʿ, who is weak. The rest of its meaning appears in the ḥadīth of Abū Masʿūd al-Badrī as a marfūʿ report: "The one most versed in the Book of Allāh should lead the people... Do not lead a man in his own domain or sit in his place of honor in his house unless he permits you." It was recorded by Muslim (2/133-134) and others. It is included in "Ṣaḥīḥ Abū Dāwūd" (594-598).

"When a man stands to pray, Allāh turns His face towards him until he turns away or commits an evil act." It was recorded by Ibn Mājah (1/319-320) through the route of Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh from ʿĀṣim from Abū Wāʾil from Ḥudhayfah, "that he saw Shabath ibn Ribʿī spitting in front of him, and he said: O Shabath, do not spit in front of you, for the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) forbade that, and said:" and he mentioned it. Al-Būṣīrī said in "Zawāʾid" (65/2): "This isnād is authentic, and its narrators are trustworthy." I said: Rather, it is only ḥasan due to the well-known discussion about Abū Bakr and ʿĀṣim, who is Ibn Abī al-Najūd, and both of them have ḥasan ḥadīths.
