al-Qāsim ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAqīl narrated to me from my father: my father narrated to me from Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh in a marfūʿ manner. He said: "The isnād is authentic." Al-Dhahabī refuted it by saying: "I say: No, by Allāh, al-Qāsim is abandoned and worthless, and ʿUbayd was weakened by more than one [scholar] but Abū Ḥātim considered him reliable." al-Bukhārī also narrated it in "al-Tārīkh" (4/1/400) from Labīd ibn Ḥayyān Abū Jundal who heard from Maʿbad ibn Hilāl who heard from Anas from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) who said: and he mentioned it. Its narrators are trustworthy except for this Labīd, whom Ibn Abī Ḥātim mentioned (3/2/181) in a brief biography without mentioning any criticism or praise. However, it has another route with al-Dārimī (1/27) and Aḥmad (3/144) through ʿUmar ibn Abī ʿAmr from Anas in a marfūʿ manner with the wording: "I am the first of the people for whom the earth will split open on the Day of Resurrection, and it is no boast. I will be given the Banner of Praise, and it is no boast. I am the master of the people on the Day of Resurrection, and it is no boast. I am the first to enter Paradise on the Day of Resurrection, and it is no boast. And I will come to the gate of Paradise and take hold of its ring..." the ḥadīth. I say: Its isnād is good, its narrators are the narrators of the two Shaykhs. And from ʿAlī ibn Zayd ibn Judʿān from Abū Naḍrah from Abū Saʿīd in a marfūʿ manner with a similar narration. Aḥmad (3/2), al-Tirmidhī (4/140), and Ibn Mājah (2/581-582) narrated it. Al-Tirmidhī said: "A ḥasan ḥadīth." I say: Ibn Judʿān is weak, so his ḥadīth is ḥasan in supporting narrations.
