the ḥadīth was also narrated by al-Ṭaḥāwī through the route of Abū al-Ashʿath Aḥmad ibn al-Muqaddam al-ʿAjlī: Ibn ʿUyaynah narrated to us with a more complete version, and its wording is: "All of ʿArafah is a standing place, but avoid the bottom of ʿAranah; all of Muzdalifah is a standing place, but avoid the bottom of Muḥassir; and the valleys of Miná are all places of sacrifice." Its isnād is also authentic. As for the command concerning the small pebbles, it has been narrated from a group of Companions, and many of them have been referenced under number (1437).

"Stay in your house." Narrated by Ibn ʿAdī (325/1) and Ibn ʿAsākir (16/388/1) from Abū al-Rabīʿ al-Zahrānī who informed us that al-Furāt ibn Abī al-Furāt said: I heard Muʿāwiyah ibn Qurrah narrating from Ibn ʿUmar that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) appointed a man to a task, and he said: O Messenger of Allāh, choose for me. He said: and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is weak, as al-Furāt ibn Abī al-Furāt, Abū Ḥātim said: truthful. And Ibn Maʿīn said: he is nothing. And Ibn ʿAdī said: "the weakness is evident in his narration." However, the ḥadīth is established because it is strengthened by supporting narrations, including one from Abū Dharr in his lengthy ḥadīth, which I have included in "al-Irwāʾ" (2517).
