al-Ḥārith ibn Yazīd from Kathīr al-Aʿraj al-Ṣudafī, said: I heard Abū Fāṭimah while he was with us at Dhī al-Fawārī saying: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. The context is from Aḥmad, with additions from Ibn Saʿd. This isnād has narrators who are trustworthy except for Kathīr, who is Ibn Qulīb ibn Wahb al-Ṣudafī. Al-Dhahabī said: "An Egyptian unknown, only narrated by al-Ḥārith ibn Yazīd." I said: It has been said that he is Kathīr ibn Murrah al-Ḥaḍramī, who is trustworthy, and this is supported by the fact that Ibn Mājah reported it (1/435) through the path of al-Walīd ibn Muslim who narrated to us from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Thābit ibn Thawbān from his father from Makhūl from Kathīr ibn Murrah that Abū Fāṭimah narrated to him, saying: "I said: O Messenger of Allāh, inform me of a deed I can adhere to and perform. He said: Adhere to prostration, for you do not prostrate to Allāh a single prostration except that Allāh raises you a degree and removes a sin from you." Al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Tahdhīb" (8/425): "The mentioned ḥadīth is known from the narration of Kathīr ibn Murrah from Abū Fāṭimah, and it was reported through his path by al-Nasāʾī and Ibn Mājah." I said: Perhaps al-Nasāʾī reported it in his "al-Kubrā" for I did not find it in his "al-Ṣughrā" except for another ḥadīth (2/182-183) through another path from Zayd ibn Wāqid from Kathīr ibn Murrah that Abū Fāṭimah, meaning, narrated to him that he said: and he mentioned it, except that he said: "Adhere to migration, for there is nothing like it." Whether Kathīr al-Aʿraj is Ibn Murrah al-Ḥaḍramī or someone else, the Ḥaḍramī also narrated the ḥadīth and he is trustworthy as mentioned, so the ḥadīth is authentic.
