I said: This isnād has weakness; ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ṣāliḥ, although al-Bukhārī used him as evidence, has been critiqued regarding his memory. And Aḥmad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Wahb, although Muslim used him as evidence, the ḥāfiẓ said: "Truthful, but his condition changed at the end." There is disagreement about attributing it directly; Imām Aḥmad said in "Musnad" (5/430): Abū Kāmil narrated to us, Ibrāhīm ibn Saʿd narrated to us, Ibn Hishām narrated from ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Abī Bakr ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn al-Ḥārith ibn Hishām from his father from some Companions of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: then he mentioned it as a statement not attributed directly, Aḥmad said afterward: "He did not attribute it directly." I said: This isnād is authentic; its men are trustworthy, the men of the two Shaykhs except for Abū Kāmil, whose name is Muẓaffar ibn Mudrak al-Khurāsānī and he is trustworthy. And although it is a statement not attributed directly, it is considered as attributed directly, especially since al-Suyūṭī mentioned it in "al-Jāmiʿ al-Kabīr" from the ḥadīth of Abū Dharr as attributed directly with the wording: "The best of people on that day..." and the rest is the same, and he said: "It was narrated by al-ʿAskarī in "al-Amthāl" and al-Daylamī, and its isnād is good."
- "Successful is the one who is guided to Islam, whose livelihood is sufficient, and who is content with it." It was narrated by al-Ḥākim (4/122) through the route of Ibn Wahb from Abū Hāniʾ al-Khūlānī from Abū ʿAlī al-Janbī - who is ʿAmr ibn Mālik - from Faḍālah ibn ʿUbayd (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) that he heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: then he mentioned it. And he said: "Authentic isnād." And al-Dhahabī agreed with him. And it is as they said
