It was recorded by Abū Dāwūd and Aḥmad with an authentic chain, as I clarified in "Ṣaḥīḥ Abī Dāwūd" (1196 and 1303). And among them, from Jābir who said: "It was said, O Messenger of Allāh, which jihād is best? He said: the one whose horse is wounded and whose blood is shed." It was recorded by al-Dārimī (2/201), Ibn Ḥibbān (1608), and Aḥmad (3/300 and 302). I say: Its chain is authentic according to the criteria of Muslim. And there is another route from Jābir with Aḥmad (3/346 and 391). And among them, from ʿAmr ibn ʿAbasah similar to the previous one. It was recorded by Aḥmad (4/114) from Abū Qilābah from him. And its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of the two Shaykhs, so it is authentic if Abū Qilābah heard it from ʿAmr ibn ʿAbasah.

- "Soon, the world will be dominated by a foolish son of a foolish man, and the best of people will be a believer between two noble ones." It was recorded by al-Ṭaḥāwī in "al-Mushkil" (2/428): Aḥmad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Wahb narrated to us, my uncle ʿAbd Allāh ibn Wahb narrated to us, Ibrāhīm ibn Saʿd al-Zuhrī informed me from al-Zuhrī, ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn al-Ḥārith ibn Hishām informed me from his father: A man from the Companions of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) informed me from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) who said: and he mentioned it. Then it was recorded from the route of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ṣāliḥ, al-Layth narrated to me, ʿUqayl narrated to me from Ibn Shihāb, ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Abī Bakr informed me that Abū Bakr ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān informed him that some of the Companions of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: then he mentioned the like of it without attributing it directly to him
