and the ḥadīth was attributed by al-Suyūṭī to Ibn al-Najjār only! The ḥadīth is supported by the ḥadīth of Faḍālah ibn ʿUbayd, which is elevated with the wording: "The true warrior is the one who strives against his own self for Allāh or, he said, in Allāh." It was recorded by Aḥmad (6/20-22), al-Tirmidhī (3/2 - Tuhfah), and Ibn Ḥibbān. Then I came across the isnād of the ḥadīth with Suwayd ibn Ḥujayr. See "Afdal al-Muʾminīn" (1491) (1624) through the route of Abū Hāniʾ al-Khūlānī, who reported that ʿAmr ibn Mālik al-Janabī informed him that he heard Faḍālah ibn ʿUbayd narrate from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) that he said: and he mentioned it. Al-Tirmidhī said: "A ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ ḥadīth." I said: And its isnād is good.

- "The best remembrance is 'There is no deity but Allāh' and the best gratitude is 'All praise is due to Allāh.'" Narrated by Ibn Ḥibbān (2326), al-Kharāʾiṭī in "Faḍīlat al-Shukr" (2/2), and al-Baghawī in Sharḥ al-Sunnah (1/144/2) from Mūsá ibn Ibrāhīm al-Anṣārī from Ṭalḥah ibn Khurāsh al-Anṣārī who said: I heard Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh say: I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: and he mentioned it. Al-Baghawī said: "This is a ḥasan gharīb ḥadīth, known only through the narration of Mūsá ibn Ibrāhīm." I said: And he is truthful but makes mistakes as in "al-Taqrīb."

- "The best speech is what Allāh has chosen for His servants: 'Glory be to Allāh and praise be to Him.'" Narrated by Aḥmad (5/148) and Ibn Bishrān in the last booklet of the thirtieth part (Q 3/1) from ʿAffān ibn Muslim who reported to us from Wahīb who reported to us from al-Jurayrī from Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Jasrī from ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Ṣāmit from Abū Dharr who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was asked: Which speech is best?
