and Shuʿbah corroborated them, saying: I heard Abū Isḥāq narrating from Abū al-Aḥwaṣ with it in the wording: "Indeed, Muḥammad (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) taught the openings, the comprehensive and the concluding of goodness, and he said: When you sit in every two rakʿahs, say: All greetings are for Allāh..., then let each of you choose the supplication he likes most and supplicate to his Lord." Recorded by Aḥmad (1/437). I say: This chain is authentic according to the criteria of Muslim, for Shuʿbah heard from Abū Isḥāq al-Sabīʿī before his memory declined. The first part of it has another supporting narration previously mentioned under ḥadīth (1472) from the narration of Ibn Lahīʿah with his chain from Ibn ʿAmr, raised [to the Prophet], so refer to it.

"I have been given seventy thousand who will enter Paradise without reckoning, their faces like the moon on the night of the full moon and their hearts are like the heart of one man. I asked my Lord for more, and He granted me with each one seventy thousand more." Recorded by Aḥmad (1/6) through the path of al-Masʿūdī, who said: Bakīr ibn al-Akhnas narrated to me from a man from Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq, who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said it, and Abū Bakr said: I saw that this would come upon the people of the towns and affect those on the edges of the deserts. I say: This chain is weak due to the unnamed man. Al-Masʿūdī had a memory lapse, and his name is ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUtbah ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Masʿūd. However, the ḥadīth is authentic as it has many supporting narrations from a group of Companions, and it missed the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) that he said: "I asked my Lord, and He promised me that seventy thousand of my Ummah will enter in the form of the moon on the night of the full moon. I asked for more, and He granted me with each thousand seventy thousand more. I said: O Lord, if these are not the emigrants of my Ummah, He said: Then I will complete them for you from the Bedouins."
