I said: And ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Isḥāq is weak by consensus, but it is strengthened by the fact that it has two supporting narrations from the ḥadīth of Abū Ayyūb al-Anṣārī and from the ḥadīth of ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar. As for the ḥadīth of Abū Ayyūb, it is through the route of ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar from Sālim ibn ʿAbd Allāh: Abū Ayyūb al-Anṣārī informed me: "that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) on the night he was taken on the Night Journey passed by Ibrāhīm, and he said: Who is with you, O Jibrīl? He said: This is Muḥammad. Ibrāhīm said to him: Command your ummah to plant abundantly in Paradise, for its soil is pure and its land is vast. He said: And what is the planting of Paradise? He said: There is no power and no strength except with Allāh." It was recorded by Aḥmad (5/418), Abū Bakr al-Shāfiʿī in "al-Fawāʾid" (6/65/1), and al-Ṭabarānī as mentioned in "al-Majmaʿ" (10/97). He said: "The men of Aḥmad are the men of the Ṣaḥīḥ except for ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb, and he is trustworthy; no one criticized him, and Ibn Ḥibbān declared him trustworthy." I said: Based on Ibn Ḥibbān's declaration of his trustworthiness, he included his ḥadīth in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" as mentioned in "al-Targhīb" (2/265) and attributed it to Ibn Abī al-Dunyā as well along with Aḥmad, and he said: "Its isnād is ḥasan."
