(1/1/49) and Ibn Ḥibbān (966) and al-Ḥākim (1/441) and Abū Nuʿaym in "Akhbār Aṣbahān" (1/203) from the path of Ibn Khuzaymah also from Sufyān ibn Ḥabīb: Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl narrated to us from Bakr ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Muzanī from Ibn ʿUmar as marfūʿ. al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the conditions of the two shaykhs." al-Dhahabī agreed with him, but this is one of their errors, for this Ibn Ḥabīb was not included by the two shaykhs in their "Ṣaḥīḥayn," but al-Bukhārī narrated from him in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" and he is trustworthy, so the isnād is only authentic.

- "O people! Repent to Allāh and seek His forgiveness, for I repent to Allāh and seek His forgiveness one hundred times every day." It was recorded by Aḥmad (4/260-261 and 5/411) from Ḥumayd ibn Hilāl from Abū Burdah from a man among the Companions of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), (and in a narration: he said: I sat with an elder from the Companions of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) in the mosque of Kūfah, and he narrated to me, saying: I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), or) he said: the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. And in another narration from a man among the Muhājirīn I heard the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: and he mentioned it. This was also recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (1/45/2). I say: This isnād is authentic according to the conditions of the two shaykhs, and the anonymity of the Companion does not harm it. It seems that he is al-Agharr al-Muzanī, for Aḥmad also recorded it (4/260) just before this from the path of Thābit al-Banānī and ʿAmr ibn Murrah, both from Abū Burdah from him without the command to seek forgiveness. Similarly, it was recorded by Muslim (8/72-73) and Aḥmad also (4/211) and al-Nasāʾī in "ʿAmal al-Yawm wa-al-Laylah" as in "Tuhfat al-Ashrāf" by al-Ḥāfiẓ al-Mizzī (1/78-79) and Abū Dāwūd (1/348 - al-Ḥalabī). From the path of al-Banānī only, and al-Mizzī noted that al-Nasāʾī also recorded it from the first path, the path of Ḥumayd ibn Hilāl. After writing what has preceded, I saw that Ibn Abī Ḥātim mentioned the ḥadīth in "al-ʿIlal" (2/137) from the first path and then said: "My father said: It is said that this man is al-Agharr al-Muzanī, and he was a Companion."
