Sharḥabīl ibn Sharīk narrated to us that he heard Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Ḥublī narrating from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr with it as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. This is how they all reported it from them except that al-Tirmidhī did not mention Ibn Lahīʿah, and likewise al-Ḥākim, except he differed in his isnād, saying: "... Ḥaywah ibn Sharīḥ narrated to me from Sharḥabīl ibn Muslim from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr." Thus, he made Sharḥabīl ibn Muslim instead of Sharḥabīl ibn Sharīk, and he omitted Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Ḥublī from the isnād, which is one of his errors, and then he made another error, saying: "A ṣaḥīḥ ḥadīth according to the conditions of the two Shaykhs." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him! I say: Ibn Muslim was not included by the two Shaykhs, whereas Ibn Sharīk was relied upon by Muslim alone, and both are trustworthy. Ibn Bishrān said after the ḥadīth: "A ṣaḥīḥ ḥadīth, and its isnād consists entirely of trustworthy narrators." And it is as he said, and al-Tirmidhī said: "A ḥasan gharīb ḥadīth."

"Indeed, Satan said: 'By Your might, O Lord, I will not cease to mislead Your servants as long as their souls are in their bodies.' So the Lord, Blessed and Exalted, said: 'By My might and majesty, I will not cease to forgive them as long as they seek My forgiveness.'" It was narrated by al-Ḥākim (4/261) and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Asmāʾ" (p. 134) through the route of ʿAmr ibn al-Ḥārith from Dirāj from Abū al-Haytham from Abū Saʿīd (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)
