"accepted": meaning when corroborated, and I have found a supporting narration from ʿUbādah ibn al-Ṣāmit who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "Seek refuge with Allāh from poverty, destitution, and from being wronged or wronging others." al-Haythamī said (10/143): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī, and Yaḥyá ibn Isḥāq ibn Yaḥyá ibn ʿUbādah did not hear from ʿUbādah, and the rest of the narrators are those of the authentic collections." The ḥadīth was narrated by Ḥammād ibn Salamah who said: Isḥāq ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī Ṭalḥah informed us from Saʿīd ibn Yasār from Abū Hurayrah that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) used to say: "O Allāh, I seek refuge with You from scarcity, poverty, and humiliation, and I seek refuge with You from wronging others or being wronged." It was recorded by al-Nasāʾī and Ibn Ḥibbān (2443). I say: Its isnād is authentic.

- "Hang the whip where the people of the house can see it." It was recorded by Abū Nuʿaym (7/332) who narrated to us from Ḥabīb ibn al-Ḥasan, who narrated from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ibrāhīm al-Akfānī, who narrated from Isḥāq ibn Bahlūl, who narrated from Suwayd ibn ʿAmr al-Kalbī, who narrated from al-Ḥasan ibn Ṣāliḥ from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Dīnār from Ibn ʿUmar as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. I say: This isnād is good. Ḥabīb ibn al-Ḥasan was weakened by al-Barqānī but authenticated by Ibn Abī al-Ghawwās, al-Khaṭīb, and Abū Nuʿaym as mentioned in "al-Mīzān." ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ibrāhīm al-Akfānī was translated by al-Khaṭīb (9/405) who said: "He was trustworthy." Isḥāq ibn Bahlūl, Ibn Abī Ḥātim said (1/1/215): "My father was asked about him and said: 'Truthful,'" and the rest of the narrators in the isnād are trustworthy and well-known from the men of "al-Tahdhīb." There is also a supporting narration from Ibn ʿAbbās, recorded by al-Bukhārī in "al-Adab al-Mufrad."
